You're already Amazing

You're already amazing, Embracing who you are, becoming all God created you to be, by Holley Gerth. In this book Holley Gerth takes you through the word and life to share the truthes about who you were created to be and what God see's you as. She goes through the lies we believe and shows through scripture how we are wrong. This book is all about setting the believer free!
When I agreed to review this book, I didn't have high hopes for it. You don't find a lot of books out there of the self help variety that are really any good. Most of them are just the author telling you how they think you should be living. Not this book! Holly Gerth really does amazing with this book! If there is one word I could pick that would describe what she has done with this book its revelation. When you read through this its like God has given her the ability to see past people and look at them through the eyes of God! There were so many times as I read this book that I though "wow, she wrote this book for me". I consider myself a strong Christian and firm in my beliefs, I wouldn't have thought that I would have any beliefs that weren't accurate. That was until I read this book and realized that there were lies I believed. It has been such a freeing book, that I think all Christians should be reading! I love this book and looked forward to every opportunity I had to sit down with it. This isn't one of those books that you can get through in a couple of days, its one that is so full and so impacting that you need to process it as you read it! Such an amazing book!

Chasing Mona Lisa

Chasing Mona Lisa, by Tricia Goyer and Mike Yorkey. During the Nazi reign, many valuable pieces of art go "missing", meaning those in the higher positions of the Nazi army have stolen them and hidden them. Agents Gabi and Eric have been assigned to find the Mona Lisa's secret location and bring her back to France. But they are in a race against the Nazi's to find her! So much peril and danger surround them the entire time!
This was a good book, wasn't among my favorite, but its definitely worth a read! I did enjoy the suspense of it all, but I think it was just the era in which it was written that I didn't enjoy it as much!

Sarai

Sarai, Wives of the Patriarchs series #1, by Jill Eileen Smith. In this book we get the opportunity to dive a little deeper into the life of Abram and Sarai, while yes it is fictional, it is based on the Biblical story of Sarah and Abraham and offers so much to the imagination. It feels like we get to pry just a little more into their lives by reading this book!
I did enjoy this book! Its an awkward review, on account of I thought the book was excellent, but by the end of the book I had so much dislike for Sarai lol. She was making me so angry! It did cause me to think more about the story of Abraham and Sarah and to think more of their struggles and what they all gave up to follow what God had told them. Along with Abraham's ability to keep his faith despite what seemed like an empty promise that would never be fulfilled! This is one book that I'm sure will be passed among friends over and over again! very well done!!!

William left to fight for the side that most of Texas is against! Which means he ends up finding himself on the sour end of many former relationships. So much so that the Texas government takes his Ranch from him and gives it to another family. As he seeks legal help in acquiring his land back, he also finds himself falling for this woman and the family! As well as finding himself in many many dangerous situations!
This is a great book! so easy to fall into and not fall out of again till you're finished! If you can be on the edge of your seat while reading a book, then this book will do it! so full of so much suspense, thrills, and drama! This book really has it all!

This was a fun book! it was fun to read, especially the David and Goliath scene lol.  Although some sections were a little predictable, it does leave some pretty good surprises at the end! I recommend this book, it was a great read!

The Messenger

The Messenger, by Siri Mitchell. Hannah Sunderland is a dedicated Quaker. She's grown up in the Quaker faith and has spent her life dedicated to following it. That is until her brother, unable to remain uninvolved in the war that is taking advantage of people, joins the resistance. Now Hannah finds herself going to the prison, not only to bring food to her brother to ensure his survival, but also as a spy for the resistance. Which is absolutely not allowed by the Quaker church, who's stance is to stay uninvolved. As she gets further and further into the deceit of being a spy, she also finds herself falling deeper and deeper for the man working with her. She questions her faith and the Quaker faith, and has to decide what road she is going to travel.
This ended up being a really good book! I was a little thrown off at the beginning of the book, just because of the way that Hannah spoke. Its not a way of speaking that I'm accustom to hearing, so it was a little hard at first to read the book and have it flow. But once I was used to the character it became easy to forget and get lost in the story! It was a thrilling story filled with so much suspense! I loved this book!

Heroes and Monsters: An Honest Look at the Struggle within All of Us

Heroes and Monsters: An Honest Look at the Struggle within All of Us, by Josh James Riebock. In this book we read about the life of Josh James Riebock, about his struggles with living with an alcoholic father, to a scarecrow that represents Jesus? He shows us grace, redemption and how life's full of ups and downs! Its not all an easy road!
I really don't know what to say about this book. I found it very awkward. On one hand he says its an account of his life, but on the other admits to fabricating sections of it? It does have a decent message of grace, but only if you can get through the book. I found it very hard to get through the first few chapters, let alone the entire book. It's a writing style that I'm not fond of, which may have been why I wasn't so thrilled with the book, and why I couldn't get into it. Sorry would love to give this a better review, but I just found it so awkward to read!
