Hope for today, promises for tomorrow

Hope for today, promises for tomorrow, by Teske Drake.i was 23 years old when my son was born and minutes later passed away. It was a very dark and lonely time. You go through a lot of emotions and feelings that you don't expect when you loose a child. I remember receiving a book on the grief of loosing a child and how to get through it. Written specifically for mothers. Problem was it was written by a man and was awful, with little understanding of grief and God's grace. At that time there was nothing like this written for moms. To know others had walked there before you, that you weren't alone! That God is there beside you with the promises to lead you out of this dark place! That offered hope, love, and understanding. It was 10 years ago that my son passed, this is a book that is needed for moms who've lost children. How wonderful that some one finally took the time to write a book like this! It is a book that I will be passing on, knowing that it will bless broke hearted moms!

I received this book from litfuse in exchange for an honest review.

With Every Letter

With Every Letter, by Sarah Sundin. Melllie, a nurse, joins a moral building program though the military with a soldier she's never met. They exchange letters and "get to know" each other the best you can via mail with out meeting face to face. But then they find their paths are going to cross and they will have that opportunity to see one another and possibily bring more to the relationship. How stressful! after only passing letters back and forth to be able to meet face to face, what if they aren't what the other person thought they'd be? could they remain friends? Could they become more?
This is a story of Love and a story of Mercy, one that reflects the Father's heart for his children. Sarah Sundin did that well. With that said, I'm not a fan of WWII writtings such as this. Sarah Sundin is a great author and does a well written story, but its just not my cup of tea, if you love romance novels and are into war time books, then this is likely a good story for you!

My Journey to Heaven

My Journey to Heaven, by Marvin Besteman. What we have here is a true story of a man's visit to heaven and who he got to all meet and what he saw! From Meeting Peter, to seeing the Lambs book, seeing and being guided by Angels, Amazing! In the midst of his suffering after a surgery for a pancreatic tumor, God took him to experience one of the greatest things one could ever imagine. How precious that the Lord would take him in the midst of his pain and show him the promises that await him! We live in a time and day where we have what we perceive of little "need" of God, so many don't know the saviour and His love and desire for them to be with him, He's not willing that any should perish! So God bless this man that would write a book detailing what God showed him that can Pierce into the unbeliever's heart! It is exactly what is needed in this time and day for some one to show that God is present and he is real! This is a book for everyone, give it as a gift, keep one, but it is a story that needs to be told! Simply an amazing book about an amazing experience!

Loves reconing

Loves Reconing, by Laura Frantz. Eden comes from a harsh father, a very hard man to please. and now with the upset of her unwed sister giving birth to a baby that her parents will claim as their own to spare embarassment life, just got harder. Silas Just accepted an apprenticeship with Eden's father, he's a hard worker and does well with what he puts his mind to, so is a shoe in to win the respect of Eden's father. What Silas didn't see coming was the tradition of being offered the opportunity to marry one of the daughters Elspeth or Eden. He finds both of them attractive with different, but great attributes. He must choose one to marry, but also deal with the jealousy of the one who wasn't.
In all honesty, I had a hard time getting into this book, the first 5 chapters were so melencoly, they just made me sad. They seemed to live a life of despise, with little hope. I really had a hard time keep going with this book. that said, it got better! you found yourself cheering for Silas to be with Eden rather than her bratty sister! While a little hard to get into, its still worth a read!

The bridesmaid

The bridesmaid, by Beverly lewis. Always the bridesmade never the bride. That's the story of Joanna's life! She's been a bridesmaid in so many weddings, but will her own wedding ever come? She's already considered "old" for getting married and the prospects on the colony are pretty slim. But while attending a cousins wedding she meets Eben, it was pretty much love at first sight! Only he's from another colony and Joanna doesn't want to leave her family and move someplace strange. Eben and Joanna decide to wait for each other and pray that Eben's brother will return to the amish lifestyle he left so many years ago, but when he returns with an outsider and tells them she's his wife, they know that he won't be returning and Eben's father will need him to stay and mind the farm. It seems destined that Eben and Joanna will never be able to be together. How can that be fair after taking so long to find each other?
Another hit by Beverly Lewis! loved it! I love the amish stories and this one is just as great as the rest of them. you're captured up in this book and find yourself wishing to be a part of this story! Its a story that just tugs as your heart and makes you want more! I can't wait to read more of the books in this series!
