Mary Magdalene

Mary Magdalene, by Diana Wallis Taylor. It all started when Mary was a child. She was a happy normal little girl, looking forward to what life would bring her! Her father valued her education in a time where a woman's education wasn't valued! She was learning and life was good! Then it all when down hill when she was abducted. Though rescued, something changed that day. She started getting sick, having seizures, migraines frequented her head and then the voices started. Thinking that she would never marry she was ecstatic to find that Nathan her "teacher" loved her just as she loved him. Her parents relieved that Mary would be taken care of were over joyed to say yes to a marriage proposal from Nathan! While the first few years weren't bad, Mary seemed to fall deeper and deeper into despair as the voices took over her. Nathan desperate to find a way for Mary to be healed took her to the high priest with little success. Then one day heard about Jesus. It's rumored that the blind see, the deaf hear and lame are walking again. If Mary ever had any hope of being healed it was with Jesus!
This is a fantastic book! I loved reading it! Based on the biblical account of Mary Magdalene (although remember it is a fiction book, just based on a biblical character which should no way be confused as the accurate history of Mary Magdalene). It takes us through the struggles and the heart ache and the ultimate freedom we find in Christ! What a joy to read this book! It made my heart happy! A definate must read, its one of those books that just draws you in!

The Haven

The Haven, by Suzanne Woods Fisher. This is book 2 in the Stoney Ridge seasons, we return ourselves to the Lapp family! They've come a long way since the last book when we said a sad goodbye to the son Menno! Sadie returns home after being gone to help out some family. Only she doesn't return home empty handed! a special little "bundle" accompanies her home which stirs up quite the controversy among their Amish community! Even Gideon who's been in love with Sadie since forever manages to become a part of the problem rather than the solution as he'd hoped for. Sadie, did think she would be marrying Gideon one day, but was not prepared for the falcons babysitter, Will! Finding herself more and more drawn to him she doesn't know who she loves any more! Will has some secrets of his own and some pretty hard choices to make! Will he give into deceit and what the flesh desires? Or will he hear God and follow what he knows to be true?
Happy sigh......I love this book.....I love this series.....I love this author! Suzanne Woods Fisher is my favoritest author ever! this book didn't disappoint! Its up there with the rest of the books by this author! Awesome beyond reason! If I could pick a novel I could just physically jump into and become a part of the story this would be it! Fisher just makes words come alive! She plays with your emotions and gets you so caught up in the story that you feel like you're apart of the family! Well done Suzanne Woods Fisher, once again a book of yours has earned a sacred spot on my book shelf!

Dying to Read

Dying to Read, by Lorena McCourtney. Cate, well she's got herself in quite the predicament. Her social life going down hill, no job, what is she supposed to do? Her uncle comes to her rescue and offers her an "easy" job as a PI, all she has to do is confirm that a certain person lives at a certain house. Easy right? She'll just do this job till she gets a better one. It can't be that hard. Except that.....it is. Murder. That's what she walks into! Now this simple job as a PI turns into a real investigation and Cate finding herself in over her head in a job she has no clue how to do!
FUN! That's the best word I can use to describe this book and this character! (well you know, murder's never fun, but I just mean what Cate finds herself in and how she handles herself!) I was glued to this book! As soon as I opened it I wanted to do nothing more than shirk all responsibilities and read this book till I got to the end. When I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it! Read it, you'll love! I guarantee it! This is going in my collection of books I highly recommend!! Yay for a good book!!!

Whispers in the Wind

Whispers in the Wind, Wild West Wind Series #2, by Lauraine Snelling. Cassie finds herself with out the home she grew up in when the wild west show she performed in shut its doors for good! Not sure what else to do but to try and find the land that her father spoke about and that she found the deed for Cassie sets of with a few friends and searches for the land. They find it, but the problem is, people live there. Truth starts to come out about how they acquired the land and even some love breaks out among the characters! We follow Cassie as she takes on this new role in her life of ranch living, its quite the adventure for Cassie as well as for the reader!

It was a pleasure to be taken along for the ride in this novel! I read the first book in this series and I loved it! I was so excited to find that a second novel was done! I loved following these characters that I remembered so well from the first novel and finding out what had happened to them! The story line is intriguing and kept me glued through out! The only thing I was disappointed about was that it ended! It was left so open ended in the book that I had so many questions, but that just means that there must be a third novel coming out! I can't wait! This is a series that I adore!

To Love and cherish

To love and cherish, by Tracie Peterson and Judith Miller. Melinda finds herself needing to support herself after the death of her parents. So she takes on a job as a ladies maid in order to take care of herself. She goes to bridal veil island and that's where she meets the games keeper, Evan. Melinda loves Evan and longs for the day that he will propose to her and they can be married. But when that proposal never seems to happen. Melinda finds herself leaving the Island and returning with her employer, feeling rather disappointed at Evan for missing all hints. Is he even in love with her at all? Evan is steady, that's the best word I can use to describe him. He wants to make a life for Melinda and himself, he wants to be in a place where they are financially secure. So he puts off proposing to her until he can give her a better life. Melinda questions if she'll ever get a proposal out of Evan?
This was a good book! I really enjoyed reading it! I found the character Melinda to be a little annoying, but that just may be the personality that the author created for her lol! Its a book that won't disappoint! Great for sitting down on a rainy day and planting your nose in a book!!!
