I couldn't love you more

I couldn't love you more, by Jason Ingram and Matt Hammitt. This adorable book teaches children about how we (their parents) couldn't possibiliy love them any more than we do because we love them with all we are. But there is some one who loves them even more than we do and that is Jesus! This book teaches a message of God's love and how God is always with you. I shared this book with my children when it arrived in the mail and they loved it! They are 6 and 8 years old and reading on their own now, but this is one of the books that time and time again they want my husband and I to read to them. Such a cute book with a fantastic message! A favorite in this house!!

Received this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Pursuit of Lucy Banning

The Pursuit of Lucy Banning, by Olivia Newport. Lucky desires the more in life, she wants an education, she wants to learn. But its at a time when a female pursing further education that wasn't etiquette training wasn't acceptable. So she hides it from her family, from her fiance and uses her charity work as a cover for attending university. Its there where she meets a young man Will, while running into her brother one day, who captures her attention. Will she follow her heart or follow her families arranged marriage agreement to Daniel? We also meet Charlotte the new maid with a secret of her own, that puts her in a very difficult place, with the help of Lucy she'll hopefully come to a resolution! What a great book! I love books where the woman stands up for what she was called to and defies society to pursue her God given dreams! Lucy is an amazing character and one that captures the attention of the readers. This is a great addition to the personal library!

Travelers Rest

Travelers Rest, by Ann Tatlock. Seth Balentine heads out to the war in Iraq to do his part to keep his country safe, but while there tragedy happens and he's shot in the neck. Leaving him completely paralyzed. Returning home isn't the happy homecoming that most want, although he's lucky to be alive, he proposed to his girlfriend Jane before he left and now feels he has no life left to live with her. So he releases her to find some one more able and not be "stuck" with him. Jane on the other hand is still madly in love with Seth and wishes that he could see that she still wants a life together with him, that being paralyzed didn't change her feelings for him. Can she help Seth see God's hand in his life still and make him see that she still loves him?
What a tear jerker! and what a difficult book! You don't find very many authors who are willing to tackle such issues as this, but Ann does and does it well! I was completely captivated from the moment I picked up this book till the moment I put it down. Its one of those books that when you put it down you just sigh, because it was so good it just comforted your soul. I look forward to reading more of Ann Tatlock's books!

Submerged

Submerged, by Dani Pettrey. Baily had a past as we all do, but hers was marked by people who don't forget what you've done. A constant reminder! She finds herself back in Yancey due to a death and finds herself "stuck" there when her expertise is needed for a case. Cole, they guy who Baily had left years later finds himself back along side Casey when they are forced to work together to solve a case. This book is a book of second chances, a God who forgives and a love that conquers all! A romantic thriller is the only way to describe this book! A great book to snuggle up with for a few hours!

My stubborn heart

My stubborn heart, by Becky Wade. Kate had waited for years for that Mr. Right to come her way. She knew she was going to be married, it was something she longed for. But years and years of watching other people get married and start their families left Kate wondering if God had anyone for her! Taking some time away from work she joins her grandmother in getting her house updated and out of the 50's decor!  Matt who was at the top of his game in the NHL had everything! Popularity, money, and a beautiful wife! That was until a brain tumor took his wife from him, then his world crashed. Nothing else mattered to him anymore and he had no desire to be a part of the game he once loved. Now living back in his home town, taking odd jobs doing renovations he finds himself hired by Kate's grandmother Beverly to renovate her house. Kate feels like it was God who brought her to this place, not only to help her grandmother out, but to also bring Matt back to life, and possibly even find more with him. This was a really good book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! Its the kind of book that just takes you out of your surroundings and transports you to where the characters are. That's the making of a truly gifted writer!

Dream

Dream: Discovering God's Purpose for Your Life, by Dutch Sheets. In this book we read about how we were created to dream, that its part of God's plan for us! On particular part of this book stood out to me about how if you don't keep dreaming then that part of you that longs for that God given dream to come true, no longer has reason to exist! Wow! We also hear many stories of people who dared to dream despite facing many struggles, dreams that looked pretty much impossible to ever actually happen and being told by those who should be encouraging dreams that they would never come to pass. What an amazing book! What a good, Godly reminder of what you were created for! Dutch Sheet's book is inspirational and encourages us to keep pursuing those dreams that God has given us! This is definitely a book that will have a valued place on my book shelf!
