Sixty Acres and a bride

Sixty Acres and a Bride, by Regina Jennings. In this novel we meet Rosa Garner, originally from Mexico, but married into the Garner family. Although it would seem as though her former husband did not have the same feelings about her. When her husband and father in law both pass away in an mining accident Rosa and her mother in law return to the town that the Garner's grew up in. When they arrive they discover that the people they had left "renting" their land had failed to pay the taxes on the land, so they only have 3 months to come up with a large sum of money! Which is a pretty difficult task for two widowed woman at that time! Weeks of trying to save money have not seemed to help too much, but Rosa finds herself face to face with Weston, Who, while facing his own battles, may be able to fall in love again!
This book was really great! I loved it from beginning to end! I loved Rosa's character! You get so sick and tired of reading novels that have the female lead character as a ditzy woman who couldn't possibly stand on her own two feet, but here we find a determined, strong, independent woman! This novel had my attention through the entire thing! In fact it only took about 3 days to read this book, it was that good! Definitely one to include in your personal library!!
