My stubborn heart, by Becky Wade. Kate had waited for years for that Mr. Right to come her way. She knew she was going to be married, it was something she longed for. But years and years of watching other people get married and start their families left Kate wondering if God had anyone for her! Taking some time away from work she joins her grandmother in getting her house updated and out of the 50's decor! Matt who was at the top of his game in the NHL had everything! Popularity, money, and a beautiful wife! That was until a brain tumor took his wife from him, then his world crashed. Nothing else mattered to him anymore and he had no desire to be a part of the game he once loved. Now living back in his home town, taking odd jobs doing renovations he finds himself hired by Kate's grandmother Beverly to renovate her house. Kate feels like it was God who brought her to this place, not only to help her grandmother out, but to also bring Matt back to life, and possibly even find more with him. This was a really good book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! Its the kind of book that just takes you out of your surroundings and transports you to where the characters are. That's the making of a truly gifted writer!
