Swept Away

Swept away, by Mary Connealy. Ruthy's parents died a long time ago, what seemed like a carrying family took her in when times were hard and no one else would. Only they weren't what they seemed. They wanted Ruthy, but more so to do all the work they didn't want to do, and when she caught the eye of her new "brother" it was then decided that she would marry him. Ruthy prayed for a way out and planned to leave the moment she could do so. Then a sudden flash flood came along while their wagon train was crossing the river and swept her "family" away. Ruthy was swept away too, but miraculously her arm got caught in a piece of wood from the wagon and held her above water saving her life. Luke, on his way home to claim back his ranch that was stolen from him, finds Ruthy at the edge of the river and rescues her. Ruthy and Luke soon find themselves falling for each other, but Luke's future is a dangerous one, going up against the man who stole his ranch and murdered his father. He's looking for Luke and determined to kill him.
This book was great! It was more than I had expected! It was full of great characters that will ind their way into your heart! Its one of those books that makes you feel right there, so that when the book ends you find yourself disappointed and missing people who had been apart of your life for a while!
